Título:  Representations of Nilpotent Groups and Parabolic Groups
Resumen:

There is a class of nilpotent groups, inspired by the work of Isabel Dotti and Laura Barberis on abelian complex structures, where the harmonic analysis (Plancherel formula, Fourier inversion) is explicit and uncomplicated.  This class includes nilradicals of minimal parabolic subgroups and leads to a nice treatment of analysis on those minimal parabolics.  There may be interesting connections with analysis   on Riemannian symmetric spaces, but this has not yet been studied.  The talk will assume some familiarity with nilpotent groups such as the Heisenberg groups, but not so much familiarity with harmonic analysis on those groups.
